By the grace of our Maker, Big apple academy was established by Mr. and Mrs…..in April, 2010. The school first started …. Within just few years of its inception, the school proved to be so huge a success that it experienced massive growth in pupils’ intake, staff recruitment and facility expansion.
“We’re greater than the sum of our parts” is the catch-phrase we live by. This is a proven truth as exemplified by our hardworking students and dedicated staff. We continually strive towards greatness mirroring the values and image of our Maker. Our God is the source of all knowledge, inspiration, power, creativity and love, and He lives in us; hence, we are able to achieve all things through Him who gives us strength.
BIG APPLE recognizes and respects the diverse religious, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds of its students. It is therefore dedicated to ensuring that they are presented with the needed prop and enabling environment for excellent, astute and productive academic work. BIG APPLE also takes great interest in the personal growth and development of its students. Sound moral precepts are encouraged as students are expected to portray Godly values and bear Godly fruits. METHODOLOGY
We skillfully combine two scientific and highly successful approaches. The Montessori Methodology. The Montessori approach allows children to grow naturally to retain their individuality and develop their own unique personality. Where our focus is on pupils learning spontaneously, teachers act as skilled observers, identifying students who need help and those better off left on their own to pursue intense activities joyfully. Multiple Intelligences Theory “… It is of the utmost importance that we recognize and nurture all the varied human intelligences, and all the combinations of intelligences. We are all so different largely because we all have different combinations of intelligence.” -Howard Gardner (1987) Appreciating the endowment of multiple intelligences that our students possess, the school employs many varied approaches in teaching to support the various learning capacities and styles of our students.
